Nevada Succeeds Salutes Our Veterans!
From “Leadership Lessons Learned in the Army”
A Veteran’s Day Perspective from Christi Jefferds, Military Intelligence Lieutenant in the Army 1987-1990, and now the Principal at Piner Elementary in the Kenton County School District in Kentucky.
“I have always known that service to our country is important. After all, I was raised with President Kennedy’s famous quote echoing in my consciousness: “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” I served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army for three years, and while I may no longer wear a military uniform, I still serve my country every day as an educator. On this Veteran’s Day I would like to share some lessons I learned while in the Army that help me daily as a school leader in the Kenton County School District.” (Read at EdWeek)
With deep respect and incredible appreciation, Nevada Succeeds would like to thank our veterans for their incredible sacrifice and dedication to protecting Americans at home and our Nation’s interests abroad. As an organization with many personal, familial ties to the Armed forces we pause today to reflect on the ways our veterans have helped our great Nation endure.
